Season Pass Sale Starts Today!

It’s September, which means Summer is on its way out. Back to school, nights drawing in and cooler temperatures – the perfect time to start running again!

We’ve slashed the price of all Zombies, Run! Season and Content Passes on both iPhone and Android by up to 50%!

The Passes

All Access Pass (iOS): $9.99 $17.99

All Access Pass (Android): $8.99 $15.99

Season 2: $4.99 $7.99

Season 3: $4.99 $7.99

Interval Training: $1.99 $2.99

Race Missions: $0.99 $1.99

Our All Access Pass gives you all 120 missions in Season 2 and Season 3, plus access to Race Missions and Interval Training (iOS only). Not bad for less than $10, eh?

If you’re new to Zombies, Run!, you’ll want to pick up Season 2 for only $4.99, which gives you access to a full 60 missions. We highly recommend playing through this before you hit Season 3 (also now $4.99), as you’ll be much better prepared for the story.

For iOS users, Interval Training is great if you fancy a change of pace (har har). It allows you to create custom workouts by combining running, walking and jogging to best suit your level of ability. It’s now only $1.99! You can also get the Season 3 Pass Plus, which combines Season 3 with Interval Training, for 40% off ($5.99).

Meanwhile, the Race Missions are half price at $0.99! These require you to run set distances; they come in two sets of 5km, 10km and 20km missions and give you a first glimpse at life in New Canton. Race Missions are best played between the end of Season 1 and the beginning of Season 2.

Where can I buy them?!1!1

You can buy Season Passes by heading over to the bottom of the Missions tab — they’ll be on sale for just ONE WEEK, until Wednesday 10th September, so get them while they’re hot!

Note: If you already own some passes, like Season 2, we hide the All Access Pass in the app because it wouldn’t be a good value purchase for you.

Content Drop: August 27th 2014

We’re back into the swing of things now. Here are the latest missions of Zombies, Run! Season 3 (Part Three).

This week’s new missions are named “Welcome Home (Sanitarium)”, “Aquarius” and “Shoot the Runner”. As usual, no spoilers, but we’re eager to hear what you think of them!

To get access to all previously released missions, you just need to purchase the relevant Pass from the Store. But surely you’ve already done that, right?

Don’t forget to check the Zombies, Run! Blog for all the latest news, including all the details on our new game, Superhero Workout!

Superhero Workout: Motion-Tracking Home Exercise

image

We created Zombies, Run! to make running more exciting. Running is great, but it’s not the only way to keep fit. Bodyweight exercises like push-ups, jumping jacks, and squats are also essential for improving your health.

Except, like running, they can be super boring. Even the 7 Minute Workout becomes dull after a week — which is why we made Superhero Workout, a new game for iPhone and iPad.

Heroes Aren’t Born. They’re Trained.

image

In Superhero Workout, you’re pilot of the prototype AEGIS One battlesuit, Earth’s last line of defence against alien invaders. With our motion-tracking technology, your punches become plasma blasts and your abdominal crunches power your suit’s reactor!

Using your device’s front-facing camera, we can track every rep and every calorie of every exercise, allowing us to make a truly interactive workout game perfect for beginners and veterans alike.

20 Epic Missions

You’re the Earth’s last line of defence, fighting the aliens across land, sea, air, and outer space. Lead writer Matt Wieteska is the man behind Zombies, Run! fan favourite Radio Abel, and he brings his trademark humour and heart to the story and characters of Superhero Workout.

12 Rapid Workouts

We’ve taken the classic “7 Minute Workout” formula and supercharged it with bonus fast workouts that focus on different parts of your body. For the adventurous, there’s our Battle Workout mode – a dynamic, motion-controlled endless battle against aliens!

image

42 Bodyweight Exercises

Push ups and jumping jacks are great, but they can get boring. We’ve added mountain climbers, power squats, punches and more – and even better, none of them require any weights or special equipment!

Apple TV Support

Superhero Workout is optimised for Apple TV, so you can battle on a big screen while your device keeps track of the action.

You can grab Superhero Workout right now from the iTunes App Store for $4.99 (£2.99)!

More details are on the Superhero Workout website. You can also follow Superhero Workout on Twitter and Facebook.

P.S. Superhero Workout will be coming to Android devices this Fall!

To get access to all previously released missions, you just need to purchase the relevant Pass from the Store. But surely you’ve already done that, right?

Over on the Zombies, Run! Blog you’ll find our latest Community Round-Up, as well information about our new game, Superhero Workout, which launches today!

August 2014 Community Round-up

It’s time for another Zombies, Run! community round-up? We’ve got some great stuff this month, from some old friends and newcomers alike.

If you’ve got anything to submit for the next Zombies, Run! community round-up be sure to let me know at jem@sixtostart.com. It can be anything from art to fanfiction to cosplay to… well, anything Zombies, Run! related! We can’t wait to see it.

image

First up, we’ve got another piece by Kasha, aka TheWonderSmith, depicting Runner 6 and Janine. Despite being non-canonical fanservice (and therefore spoiler free), it’s another lovely painting.

image

Tumblr user llamacorn-productions has put together a Runner 5 cosplay outfit and kindly posted photos on her blog. No word on if she actually plays the game wearing the entire costume, but we’d like to hope so!

Check out the Tumblr post for more pics and detail on how the costume was put together.

image

Look at this! Tumblr user Bloodyancientbird has gone and created Radio Cabel co-hosts Jack and Eugene in the new Sims 4 Create A Sim demo. These are based on unofficial, semi-agreed upon fan designs of the characters. So if you’re thinking “Whaaaat! Jack and Eugene don’t look like that!” then why not make your own and show us what you think the characters look like.

Check out Bloodyancientbird’s blog post for more pics.

image

How’s this for dedication? Tumblr user akinthemiddle has gone and got themselves a Zombies, Run! tattoo! That’s hardcore. The design is a really cool tribute to Runner 5. A really cool, permanent tribute. We’re honoured!

image

Sam Yao really loves Marmite, isn’t that right neegeecorn? This painting must take place in Sam’s dreams, because we’re pretty sure Marmite jars that size don’t exist. Or has Sam been shrunk down? Either way, this seems like a surefire way to develop a hefty stomach ache. But before then, Sam’ll be in yeast extract heaven.

image

Remember the clay models of the Zombies, Run! cast sent to us in the community care package in January? It looks like Zalia’s at it again, with a new version of Sam Yao featuring the Radio Abel logo on his hoodie. Clearly he’s a big fan.

Sam’s been on a journey down to London with Zalia as she leads Zombies, Run! panels at Nine Worlds conference and LonCon, featuring writers Naomi Alderman, Rebecca Levene and more.

Check out Zalia’s blog post to see Sam enjoying a pre-apocalypse Costa.

Google Glass review

A review of Zombies, Run! for Google Glass! If you’re lucky enough to own a Google Glass and haven’t tried out the bespoke version of Zombies, Run! we made for it (and why haven’t you!) check out what Tumblr user Hirvimaki says about it.

…And one more thing, something that isn’t from our community!

We’re about to launch our new home exercise game Superhero Workout this month, so check it out for a sneak preview. You can sign up for a newsletter at the website or follow the game on Twitter to stay up to date with all of our announcements!

New Zombies, Run! missions arrive August 20th!

We’re almost at the end of the second mid-season hiatus for Zombies, Run! 3. The third and final part of Season 3 will be released from August 20th. That’s less than a week away!

There are another seven weeks of content drops left in Season 3, during which we’ll be furnishing you with a total of twenty new missions. That makes Season 3 of Zombies, Run! 60 missions long – longer than two full-length TV show seasons. That’s a lot of zombies!

We hope you’re enjoying the ride and are looking forward to the epic Season 3 finale. Any predictions? Theories? We’d love to hear them!

Final Content Drop of Season 3 Part 2

Zombies, Run! Season 3 Part 2 concludes today with a new batch of missions.

This week’s new missions are named “It’s Raining Again” and “Addicted To Love”. As usual, no spoilers, but we’re eager to hear what you think of them!

This marks the end of Zombies, Run! Season 3 Part 2 but don’t worry, we’ll be back with Part 3 on August 20th. We’ll have another twenty action packed missions which will conclude the story of Season 3. We hope you’re looking forward to it as much as we are!

To get access to all previously released missions, you just need to purchase the relevant Pass from the Store. But surely you’ve already done that, right?

Content Drop: July 2nd 2014

Zombies, Run! Season 3 continues today with a new batch of missions.

This week’s new missions are named “Blue”, “A Little Light Music” and “Where’s Your Head At”. As usual, no spoilers, but we’re eager to hear what you think of them!

To get access to all previously released missions, you just need to purchase the relevant Pass from the Store. But surely you’ve already done that, right?

If you haven’t been keeping up with the Zombies, Run! blog, you might want to go check it out. The latest community round up showcases some amazing artwork and fanfiction, plus an entire game written by one of the Zombies, Run! Season 3 writing team! Our community gets more impressive every month.

June 2014 Community Round-up

It’s time to take another look at what the crazily creative and prolific Zombies, Run! community has been up to. As usual, you’ve been pretty busy so there’s a lot to get through!

First up is this brilliant Certificate of Achievement, sent in by Daniel along with this story behind it’s creation:

My 11 year old daughter has been following my progress on Zombies Run 5k and Season One.  Yesterday for Father’s Day we did a 5K together – Season 1 Mission 12 – and she presented me with the attached Certificate.  Note the “Zom Free” stamp at the bottom – she thinks that Able Township should give every runner a medical checkup after they return from runs, to make sure they have no bites or scratches. Lucky for me, I passed inspection.

Next, we have a member of the Zombies, Run! writing team who has created their own game! Gavin Inglis, a writer on Zombies, Run! Season 3, has produced an interactive horror novel called Neighbourhood Necromancer. Unlike in Zombies, Run!, this time you’re in charge of the zombies as you try to take over the suburbs. It sounds deliciously daft and fun, in a way that only a skeleton’s tea party can.

You can grab Neighbourhood Necromancer on iOS and Android devices, or play it online over on the Choice of Games website.

Friend of Zombies, Run!, Kas Sweeney (you may know her better as TheWonderSmith) has created a brilliant new Tumblr account called Ask Radio Cabel. Kas masterfully illustrates in-character responses by Jack, Eugene, Phil and Zoe to questions submitted by people like you. So head on over and see what’s already there, then submit your own!

Ask Radio Cabel is unofficial and not part of the Zombies, Run! canon. But that doesn’t mean we don’t love it!

Zombies, Run! fan p-cinereus has drawn himself as Runner 5, sporting some snazzy bracers and a (not yet bloodstained) axe. Formidable! P-cinereus is a relative beginner to Zombies, Run!, having recently started to play 5k Training. We’d like to wish him good luck with it and look forward to seeing more Zombies, Run! fanart from him!

This adorable pic of Eugene was created by Emma (aka Crownleys). It’s part of a community-wide colour palette meme, where artists are requested to create work using only a set palette of colours. It makes for some striking images, as you can see!

tumblr_n7sj95Fz9O1ql5vkuo1_500.png

Next up is a great sketch of Dr Maxine Myers sporting a pretty awesome tattoo, created by tedanaxe for the Iron Zombies challenge. Speaking of which…

tumblr_n7laybxysD1tylqkxo1_500.jpg

Zalia’s Iron Zombies After Dark creative challenge has completed and has resulted in a huge amount of new Zombies, Run! fanart and fanfiction. There’s a great round-up of everything the talented participants have created. A quick warning, however: some of this stuff might be NSFW. Enjoy!

If you have something to submit for the next Zombies, Run! Community Round-up, you can send your work (attachment or link is fine!) to Jem@sixtostart.com. We’re looking for art, fiction, photos or any other piece of creative work you’ve made. Alternatively, if you’d like to nominate someone else’s work that’s cool too!

Introducing guest writer Joanne Harris

image

We’re so thrilled that the wonderful author Joanne Harris (author of Chocolat and most recently, The Gospel of Loki) has penned a guest episode for Season 3 of Zombies, Run!

We asked Joanne a few questions about how she got involved and what she’s made of the experience!

Joanne, how did you come to get into Zombies, Run!?

I initially heard about the game from Naomi Alderman. I’d never done any running before, and I thought it sounded like a great idea. I tried it, and was genuinely surprised, both at how much I actually enjoyed the physical part, and at how quickly I became involved in the affairs of Abel and its inhabitants. I’ve been following them ever since.

image

How did you decide where to focus in your episode?

So far there have been so many episodes that have centred on the adult inhabitants of Abel, and so few that reflect the younger community.

I began to imagine what it would be like to be a teenager in Abel; going through all the usual angst and self-doubt, with the zombie apocalypse thrown it. Too young to be accepted as runners, but old enough to feel the need to do something to contribute, I created two young characters, orphaned and left to their own devices, who, desperate to prove they can manage alone, set off illegally from Abel, in search of those things adult runners never seem to want to collect…

image

And finally, what’s your favourite song to run to, and which member of Abel would accompany you on your ideal run?

I have a number of ZR playlists which I vary according to weather and mood, but I always pick up the pace when Voltaire comes on – he has a number of songs about zombies, which I find quite motivational.

I like to run on my own, but, given the chance, would jump at a mission with Sam, of whom I’ve grown rather fond…

And of course, Sam’s fond of you too. All of you Runners Five out there ;-).
