Running is more fun together — from 5ks to ultramarathons, the community spirit in a race is an incredible motivator. There’s no better community than the runners of Abel Township, so we’re making it happen!
That’s right, we’ll be staging the first ever Zombies, Run! Virtual Race from 24th October to 1st November – and entries have now begun!
The Virtual Race takes place in a location and time of your choice. You can walk, jog or run wherever you may be, and at any time during the race week, for a 5k or a 10k distance.
It’ll be an awesome way for all Runner 5s around the world to run as a community, and get exclusive real-world awards!

Enter the race today and you’ll get all of this radness:
Entry costs $40 (+$5 worldwide shipping), and Pro Members get a $5 discount!
Be quick – there are only 1500 500 places remaining, so join up now to avoid missing out!
Just open the Zombies, Run! app and view the Virtual Race news post! If you can’t see it, please restart your device, which will make sure that the news posts are up to date.
We look forward to running with you all this October!

New Missions time again! As usual, we have two great new missions from Season Four ready to download and enjoy:
S4M27: “Hit Me Baby One More Time”
S4M28: “Honey Honey”
If you’re a Pro Member, you can download both of these missions right now! Free and Legacy members can unlock either one with their free weekly unlock.
We love hearing what you think of these missions – drop us a line on Twitter (@zombiesrungame) or here in the comments.

And Episode 4, “A Lost Child” for cinderscoria! Cinder’s 5 has mad protective instincts when it comes to the kiddos, so approach at your own risk.
“We’ve had that report confirmed, Runner 5…there’s a kid wandering in No-Man’s Land…”

In our latest 4.1.5 update for Android, we’ve added split time graphs! You can now view your performance in detail for every run. Simple, but powerful.
We’ve also released 4.1.5 for iOS today, introducing calorie tracking, along with fixes for Airdrop Mode and mapping issues.
And next week, prepare for a big announcement about the first-ever Zombies, Run! Virtual Race…

If you’re up to date with Season Four, you’ll be wondering if the emotional rollercoaster of the past fortnight will continue into a third week. There’s only one way to find out: Run! Here’s what we have this week:
S4M25: “Another Brick In The Wall”
S4M26: “Grown Ups”
If you have a Pro Membership, both missions are available right now! Otherwise, you can use your free weekly unlock credit to play either one. Let us know what you think in the comments below or on Twitter (@zombiesrungame)!
Note: Mild S2 spoilers!
Naomi Alderman, ZR co-creator and lead writer:
Nice question! The answer is that it’s partly deliberate and partly happenstance. Pandora Haze and Van Ark are both names that were requested by Kickstarter backers, but I felt they had a particular literary quality to them, and particularly nice resonances, so those were the ones I picked to do something more than “name a park” with 😉

Well the wonderful and talented Bingo In the Elf-Lounge ( http://elfbingo.tumblr.com/ , http://sapphiregamgee.deviantart.com/ ) has brought to life another creation of Runner Five for me. Just back from a supply run, the Runner has found a special treat for everyone’s favorite Radio Operator, Sam Yao. With her trusted ax and backpack of holding, the Runner is ready for anything.
We just added split times, speed profile graphs, distance markers, and animated paths to ZombieLink – let us know what you think!
